For a podcast player, it's pretty good. As a podcaster, I'm more impressed that all of my podcast's 7 seasons are easily found on Good pods. Over the years, I've had to change platforms a few times due to changes in storage limits, elimination of certain features, or other changes to the platforms. It was a nice surprise to discover I could easily go to any previous season of my podcast and listen to an episode from years earlier and from a different platform...all in one place.

Good pods is the social media for podcasting. Podcasting can be isolating as podcasters and listeners don't have a direct way of being connected like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook etc. This way, you can recommend to friends and others about shows that you like to listen but may not be getting the big marketing push that the big podcasts get. Good pods helps "the little guy," the underdogs to be discovered and find listeners in their niche, and their path of success

Would like to see a mark all as played function as I don't want to have to relisted to a podcast episode if I moved over to good pods. I'll still give it a try.

I'm going to assume the business model is that pods pay to be featured because dear god does this thing bury you in "recommendations" for things ones you will have absolutely zero interest in. The recommendation engine, such as it is, is as dumb as bricks. As an actual podcast player, it lacks even basic features - you can't even mark imported subscriptions as listened to, so migration to it is effectively impossible, even if you wanted to. A hideously ugly, vibe coded waste of pixels.

Love the idea, but this was unusable. Already annoying I have to pick 5 subgenres of podcasts I enjoy (I'm not looking for recommendations, I don't listen by genre) but the search function is very broken. On the website it's bad (loads for a while and usually shows a white screen) but at least searching "mcelroy" got results ("my brother" didn't), on the app I couldn't get a single podcast to show up in the podcast category after 5 minutes of trying (the episode & person categories work)
