Description
Group Ringtone automatically sets the custom ringtones of your contacts based on the group membership of each contact. So now you can also use Google Contacts to manage your ringtones.
Group Ringtone also supports a default ringtone for all your contacts. By setting the default ringtone different from your phone's default ringtone, you can have different ringtones for stored contacts and "unknown" (not stored) contacts.
Possible scenarios, where Group Ringtone helps you, are:

Works well. Ultimate enhancements would be 1. "Group Text Notification Sound" Exactly the same functionality, but for texts. I use Textra, and it's like a 5 click process to set each and every contact to a new ringtone when switching phones. 2. Visual display of who has what ringtone assigned. Like a file/folder display. Reverse too... A given ringtone has what people associated.

Does what it says. My use is to make my default ring none. Bye bye annoying robocalls Then use Group ringtone to assign a custom tone to my contacts. This App automates an otherwise tedious task. Seems to be abandoned. Android 13 not supported.

Used to work fine. After Android 12 update on OP7T, it has stopped. Updating contacts forever. Thankfully now the original Contacts app has that feature in built. Though Contacts broke the default calling SIM for groups.
