Log a meal in seconds: type it, add a photo, or scan a packaged food’s barcode. Record your stool on the Bristol scale and note symptoms such as gas, cramps or reflux. As your history grows, GutLoop shows possible timing patterns in your own records and how much data supports each one.
Food diary and meal tracker
Keep a simple food journal without calorie counting. Log:
• Meals and snacks, with portions, times and notes
• Food tags such as dairy, gluten, onion, garlic, legumes, caffeine, alcohol and spicy food
• Packaged foods by barcode, with several products in one meal
• Optional meal photos
Digestion, symptom and bowel movement tracker
Create a detailed digestion diary by recording:
• Bowel movements and Bristol stool type (1–7)
• Digestive comfort
• Symptoms and severity, including bloating, gas, cramps, constipation, diarrhea, urgency, nausea and reflux, even without a bowel movement
• Stool characteristics, notes and optional photos, blurred by default
Because meals and bowel movements share one timeline, you don’t need a separate poop tracker and food log.
Explore possible food and digestion patterns
Insights review your logs for recurring timing relationships between earlier meals and later digestion entries within 6, 12 and 24 hours. They also summarize each period and show your Bristol stool types at a glance. Every pattern carries a label that says how much data supports it, and insights become more informative as you add records.
GutLoop does not determine that a food is a trigger, prove that a meal caused a symptom, or diagnose a food intolerance.
An IBS and gut health diary
If you keep a food and symptom diary for IBS, bloating, a suspected food intolerance or a low-FODMAP plan from your dietitian, GutLoop keeps the relevant information together and lets you export it when you need it.
Your data, on any phone
• Export your journal with photos in one ZIP file and import it on another phone, iPhone or Android
• Spreadsheet exports open neatly in Excel, in your language, with local dates and times
• Stool photos go into an export only when you choose
• Delete your data at any time
Optional AI and GutLoop Pro
Logging, barcode scanning, reminders, Insights and exports work without a subscription. GutLoop Pro adds AI meal and stool photo analysis, AI explanations of your Insights and an Insights PDF report. AI photo analysis is optional, processes the selected photo online, may be inaccurate, and can always be edited. A photo is analyzed only when you choose an AI feature. Plans and pricing are shown in the app before purchase.
Private, local-first tracking
No sign-up needed. Your meals, digestion records, symptoms, notes and photos stay on your device by default. Data leaves your device only for an online feature you choose, such as a barcode product lookup or optional AI analysis, as explained in the app’s privacy disclosures.
