Halcyra Tap

A still pond, a school of koi, and a handful of pellets. Tap the water and one pellet appears, sinking slowly toward the bottom. That single tap is the whole of your control — and the reason Halcyra Tap asks you to think before you touch the surface.

The koi follow one simple law: the nearest fish always turns for the food. Nothing you can do changes that. So every drop becomes a small piece of geometry. You watch the shapes the fish are making as they glide, you find the one that is closer than the others, and you place the pellet where its turn is already half begun. Feeding is not about aiming at a koi. It is about choosing which koi the pond will send.

The catch is that each fish needs to eat exactly once. A pellet landing beside a koi that has already been fed is a pellet gone, and the pellets are counted. A full pond cleared with food left over feels like a clean solution; a last fish circling an empty surface is the puzzle telling you where you went wrong. You will replay a layout just to find the order that works, and that order is usually hiding in plain sight.

The water does not stay still for you. Shoals wheel across the pond in slow curves, crossing the line you planned a moment ago and arriving somewhere you did not intend. And then there is the carp — heavy, greedy, and entirely uninterested in fairness. If it drifts near your pellet it will take the food that belonged to someone else. Learning to drop on the far side of the carp, or to wait out a passing shoal for a beat longer than feels comfortable, is most of what improving looks like here.

Fifteen levels carry the idea from a quiet open pool to tangled arrangements where the koi, the shoals, and the carp all have to be read at once. Early ponds give you room to experiment. Later ones hand you a tight pellet count and a crowded surface and leave the rest to you. Nothing speeds up, nothing shouts; the pressure comes entirely from the fact that there is only one correct next tap and the pond is about to change shape.

It plays well in short sittings. A level is a minute or two of looking, one careful touch, and then either a solved pond or a reason to start it again. Soft water, unhurried fish, and a puzzle that is easy to understand on the first tap and genuinely satisfying to finish on the fifteenth.
