All I get is a message saying "Handy not found" despite it showing up in my phone's native Bluetooth menu.

Not actually Bluetooth u MUST have Wi-Fi... so no point in the app since ull still need to b connected via Wi-Fi not Bluetooth. Bluetooth means it connects directly to a device this, does not
