HCE Test Tool

HCE Test Tool is a developer utility for controlled contactless integration testing. It uses Android host card emulation to present synthetic test card profiles to an NFC reader or test payment terminal.

Choose a bundled Visa, Mastercard, or American Express profile, or import a native HCEImage test profile for a supported brand. Start emulation to record the APDU exchange, check the observed flow, and inspect the result.

Card profiles and test security data:

Imported profiles and any embedded synthetic test-security defaults are stored privately on the device, excluded from Android backup, and validated again when loaded.

Emulator overrides stay in memory only. They clear after the next emulation starts for that profile, unless you keep them until the app process closes. They survive tabs and rotation but are not saved to profiles, settings, history, reports, logs, clipboard or backups. Generated test APDU responses can appear in history and reports. Never enter production keys or real payment credentials.

Privacy and connectivity:

- no user account required
- no advertising
- no analytics or tracking
- offline testing; web guides and privacy information require a browser and connectivity
- no automatic diagnostic uploads; reports leave the app only when you save or share them
- local history and settings are subject to Android backup settings; imported profiles are excluded

Use synthetic test data only. HCE Test Tool does not provide payment, banking, wallet, money-transfer or other financial services and cannot make real purchases. It is exclusively for authorized development, integration testing and controlled test environments.

Requirements:

- Android device with NFC host card emulation support
- NFC enabled
- compatible external contactless reader or payment terminal configured for testing

Behavior depends on the reader, terminal kernel, payment application, profile and test host. Authorization and processing outside the emulator are not controlled by HCE Test Tool.

Recent changes:
Import native HCEImage card profiles with clear validation, supported-brand checks and unique Profile IDs.
Use optional profile-default test security data or temporary Emulator overrides.
