Description
HomeBot enables you to change the behaviour of the home button on you smartphone.
You can set different actions to happen when you long press the home button:
- Open an app - Open a web page - Toggle the flashlight - Open the recent apps screen - Toggle brightness
The app doesn't need root but has to be set as your Assistant app in Settings > Apps > Advanced > Default apps > Assist & voice input
Currently only tested on Android 6.0

With this app I have restored the long press home button functionality back to Google Voice Search. This app allowed me to bypass the annoying nagging to set up Google Assistant that I get when (out of habit) I long press the home to try to use Google Voice Search. Google should provide a way to turn OFF this nagging, so you can only use the Google Voice Search function. Until then, this app is a keeper!

Doesn't work in android 12. We hoping this would restore long pressing the home button functionality in android 12, but it can't do anything.

Apparently choosing "none" for my "assistant" is forbidden as I was unable
to "enable" homeboy. Oh well.
