If you don't have a Pixel 6/6 Pro - then this app is phenomenal. I've loved everything about it. I stopped using the proper Hue app and stuck to this for years. However, ever since I switched phones to a Pixel 6 Pro, I can't use the feature that made me the happiest - Dance Sensation. Never had issues using the internal phone mic to sync the lights before. But now, when active, the lights are dead as if it's not picking up any sound. Looking on Reddit, seems to be Pixel 6/pro specific. 😞

Actually sane experience. The Philips Hue app is nuts, they have a sleep function that first brightens your lights before dimming them for some reason. Hue Essentials has a sleep option that just dims the lights over a period of time, it actually makes sense. Hue Essentials was made by people for people, Philips Hue was made by drones for nobody.

What an absolute waste of money. This app doesn't do anything the free Philips Hue app doesn't do! I wanted to set up a rotating color scheme, but you can't set that up in this app. Don't waste your money!

I bought the application mainly because of the synchronization of hue lights and TV ambilight. The sync function does not work with all applications. It works great with YouTube but not with Netflix, max and prime. Quite a disappointment for me.

Better than anything out there, still a bit clunky. Content a bit expensive, though not compared to the lights. EDIT: Having bought everything I'm sad that the bridge connection has started to fail. It's been at least a year and the app is unusable unless you're on the same LAN. Away from home keeps signing out, says signed in but when you return it just has sign in button again. Unusable.
