Description
Use your Android smartphone to read your imob tickets used on the entire waterway and land Venice public transportation network. This app was not developed by ACTV, hence it is not possible to add a ticket refill capability or functions other than simply reading tickets.
It’s really easy to use: swipe the back of your phone over the ticket to find out how many fares have been loaded onto your ticket as well as the fare type and the date/time of the last validation.
The application reads ACTV paper tickets, but not the plastic passes bearing the holder’s name, for legal reasons: they’re encrypted. Their data can be read only on the ACTV official website after logging in with your username and password.

Amazing I just found this after I got home from Venice. I would have loved this while being there.

Non funziona Nexus 7. After communicating with the developer, I've found out that this app can only read tickets bought on the throw away tickets. As a resident I have a carta Venezia, and because it contains personal data this app cannot read it as it's encrypted. It doesn't do what I hoped it would do but should read tourist tickets.
