Description
Imperial Conflict, commonly referred to as IC, is a free online browser-based massively multiplayer online strategy game set in space. Players interact with thousands of other players in a quest to "Rule The Galaxy".
Imperial Conflict was created in mid 2000 by 2 Swedish progammers, Stefan and MasterMike. The story goes that they set out to create the game because were both tired of the Utopia gaming community, citing dull gameplay and inactive admins.
In 2016, Stefan agreed to sell IC to one of its players and former volunteer developers, I_like_pie.
IC has won MPOGD Game of the Month twice. Once in November 2000, and again in November 2003.

This game definately deserves a 5 star. It may not be as flashy as alot of games but that is what you can expect from a game that has 0 revenue and is primarily focused on the players and the community. The developer is actually a real person that interacts with the players daily and will actually listen to ideas and help further them into codable concepts if they have the potential to benefit the game further. Although not flashy the core mechanics of game are solid and players are supportive.

The app and mobile web page is great. It's better than what I had hoped for. Unfortunately it's over 10 years too late due to the previous owner of the game running it into the ground. A word of caution for anyone thinking about getting into this game. If you want to be decent it takes a ton of time and even then there are others that have been playing for literally 15-20 years that know all the bugs and advantages they can use. My first round back after a 10 year hiatus and my team found a bug that gave the family over 2x our size such an advantage that we couldn't even retake our own planets to keep up with fighting because the morale is bugged. Plus the fact that there are so many people that wait for someone else to weaken your group so that they can vulture. Honestly, spend your time somewhere else where you can control your destiny more and don't have to spend hundreds of hours just to be pissed off. The game isnt balanced in the slightest.
