I rarely give reviews, let alone 5 stars, but this one is worth it! I initially tried the free version and saw the value of the independent analysis (no company influences, finally!) and the ability to search food, makeup, hair and skincare items. It is eye-opening to learn what is in everyday products and has helped me buy healthier, safer items. I have recommended this app so many times. It also helped support a family member in their cancer recovery, giving scare-free info. Love it!

The operator(s) behind Yuka do not get enough credit! The rating factor of a product or food item is so extremely beneficial. Just to understand what you're putting in or on your body can make such a difference! Especially when ingredients have side effects one would think are unrelatable - such as infertility!!

Fearmongering risk assessment of additives. Doesn't actually base their conclusions on scientific consensus. Sucrose is one of the most extensively researched sweeteners on the planet. Decades and decades and decades of data reviewed by the FDA, WHO, and ESFA show no risk when consumed at normal levels. We do live in a time when our food is pumped full of questionable things, but putting giant "Severe-Risk" blanket warnings over safe ingredients is doing more harm than good.

Fulll of confusions regarding the way things are rated. For example cocoa cola is rated 10g sugar say to be very bad And cereals is rated 18g of sugar and say to be somehow good. Too convoluted! I have one butter is said to be bad, and the other good, but the good one actually have the same rating about all the ingredients

I have recently discovered that most Olive Oil sold in the UK does not actually contain any (or tiny amounts of) olive and is mostly seed oil. But you're still rating all of these as high quality! My favorite oil for years has been Filippo Beria, but to be actual olive oil it is required to have a "Harvest Date" printed on the bottle. As it does not, it is not olive oil! Please stop approving fake olive oil!

Horrible. Not reliable ingredients list. I scanned a face lotion that I use, and it had a 0 rating. Upon trying to find out why it said that my lotion had BHT. I looked for the ingredient that it suggested was the culprit, and guess what, it's nowhere on the label. I went one by one on the list. Searched the ingredients that seem similar to what the app said was the culprit, those ingredients came back as ok. I literally downloaded the app & uninstalled in less than 10 minutes.

Unfortunately since some time the app isn't working well. It scans the first product and after stops. Needs to restart, which makes the whole process long and boring.
