UPDATE 17.9.2024: IrssiNotifier is currently broken and you don't get notifications! This is because of Firebase API changes, and to fix the app basically the whole server needs to be rewritten. This might take some time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

IrssiNotifier uses Google Cloud Messaging (Android push mechanism), so notifications consume very little battery and are almost real time.
Irssi script set up is straightforward and instructions are available at the app's web page at https://irssinotifier.appspot.com.
All messages are end-to-end encrypted with encryption key specified by you, so your privacy will be protected.

Awesome! Works just as advertised, setup was rather easy and notifications are near instant. I also like a lot the idle time requirement. I sometimes forget ssh session open on my computer when I'm away, so I get notifications even then! The shortcut to Irssi Connect Bot profile is also great idea.

Great! Awesome addition to old trustworthy IRC. Installation was relatively easy with the instructions from apps webpage. I recommend this for all irssi + android users :)

UPDATE: I have been using this successfully for 4 years, but it has suddenly stopped working yesterday. Tried reinstalling app on my phone, checked settings in irssi and did irssi restart. User profile on their site says it should be working but no messages coming though on the app feed anymore 😢 Not sure if this is related to the old Google FCM API being deprecated 🤔

Not user-friendly GUI. Needs improvement @Zedde GUI is important. I often get a lot of hi lights and the app is where I go and read them. From the notification icon everything should be redesigned. Or make the theme customizable. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish the messages from others, add a spacer or something. Pushover theme is perfect. Scrolling has a clitch of some sort (loads up the hi lights many times and often hides the last row). Uninstalled, for now.
