JazzBricks: Jazz Improvisation

Explore jazz improvisation by connecting chords, your ears and your instrument.

JazzBricks takes a practical approach to jazz education through small melodic fragments called bricks. Listen, find their notes and play them over chord progressions. Make jazz practice part of your routine: train your ear, develop your musical vocabulary and work on phrasing with adjustable-tempo accompaniment.

A BASE FOR PRACTICE, AN EXTENSION TO GO FURTHER

• Bricks: explore melodic fragments, hear how they relate to a chord and find them using visual references for your instrument.
• Solo Map: work through a chord chart with suggested bricks, adjustable tempo and accompaniment.
• Guide Tone Line, an optional extension sold separately: use the tune selected in Solo Map, connect its chords with a melodic line, listen and explore guitar voicings. The JazzBricks base is required to use this extension.

START FOR FREE

Discover the Major and Major (secondary brick) systems, plus two exercises in their original keys: Rhythm Changes in B-flat and Minor Blues in C minor. Try Bricks and Solo Map, plus a Guide Tone Line preview on these two tunes. This preview remains available after buying the base; the optional extension enables Guide Tone Line on other charts selected in Solo Map.

THE JAZZBRICKS BASE: ONE-TIME PURCHASE

The base includes complete Bricks and Solo Map: all four systems, every exercise and key, personal charts, chart creation, import, editing and transposition, and all Solo Map settings. Guide Tone Line remains an optional complementary purchase. No subscription. Your store displays localised prices before confirmation.

PRACTICE YOUR WAY

Choose visual references for your instrument. JazzBricks includes support for guitar, keyboard, bass and several wind instruments. Guide Tone Line voicings are for guitar.

Tools and sounds are included in the app so you can practice offline after installation. An internet connection may be needed to install the app, make or restore a purchase, or download a file from an external file provider.

YOUR PRACTICE IS PERSONAL

No JazzBricks account is required. Charts, sessions and settings stay on each device; use the available import and export features to transfer supported files. There is no automatic synchronization between Android devices.

Use Restore Purchases to recover your access on Android devices using the same Google Play account. Restoring purchases does not transfer practice data. Owners of the previous full-version purchase keep all three tools at no additional cost.
