Longtime user. Indefinitely feature frozen, but there are still a few bug fix releases a year. Blame bugs on Google's shoddy android updates for creating bugs in apps. At the moment, keybase can't seem to open a file picker, but you can still share-to keybase. It also sometimes forgets how to clear unread markers. The only bad thing that is kinda keybase's fault is the embedded video player, which is just chrome's video player, and it sucks.

It's easy to use, has a good feature set and seems secure. Promising despite the poor mobile performance.

This works great for its purpose. The crypto features appear to have been added from the crypto-hype/boom and now seem like unnecessary features likely forced in by an executive who wanted them tacked on for marketing. There's big problems with the Web of Trust and pgp is not good enough crypto anymore. Otherwise, this is a great tool as long as you take these considerations in mind.

Would be great, but looks like the app freezes whenever it displays "user is typing...". Please fix this.

Almost five stars. I would love to be able to selectively sync files and folders, but it's still a still horribly useful app as is. Edit: crashes constantly, uninstalled to stop spam

Unusable on android after last update, the app "stops working" each time I try to log in making it impossible to access my account, the only way forward is to reset my account and lose all my data :(

UPDATE December 2022: Chat dialog respoce in the App has gotten so laggy on Android 13 (Google Pixel 6) that its almost unusable. Have to constantly quit and reopen the app in order to communicate with people. Lag is also evident on other platforms, but it is not as severe. IOS seems to be the least affected, macOS has some issues lagging. UPDATE FEB 2024: upload photo and sharing integration on Android is now broken. No longer able to upload or share photos from camera roll.
★★☆☆☆Dan LaFreniere· Jul 7, 2023
Very poor performance on Android after recent update. Lags/crashes when someone is typing. It's unfortunate because keybase is my fave chat app. This is a known issue listed in GitHub that is being ignored. The app appears to be abandonware. Look elsewhere.
