Kinoma Play is an innovative new way to simplify your digital life. It features a suite of 50 apps focused around digital media, social networking, location, and search.
What makes Kinoma Play special is how it combines information and features from across Kinoma apps into dashboards to simplify and speed everyday tasks. Kinoma Play includes five dashboards:
• Play shows up-to-the-minute information from every Kinoma app with news – social networks, recent photos, stocks, weather, the song you’re listening to, upcoming calendar events, and even Kinoma app updates. • Search uncovers surprising information by quickly collecting results from across every Kinoma app that supports search. • Places is an in-depth guide to what’s nearby, combining information from foursquare, Yelp, YouTube, Wikipedia, and HearPlanet, the world's largest audio guide. • Music is a music lover’s dream, delivering photos, biographies, and videos of the artist you’re listening to now. • Send is the hub for sharing and organizing media: show videos on a television, tweet about a song, upload a picture to Flickr, download a podcast, or add to a playlist.
Kinoma Play’s Media Connect app shares media with other devices on the same network, even other phones. It supports the popular Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) standard built into many televisions, computers, and game consoles including Xbox 360 and PS3. Media Connect allows you to easily:
• Show pictures, music, and video from your phone on DLNA compatible televisions • Play content from media servers on your phone • Share content with neighboring devices by turning your phone into a media server
Oh, and it's an amazing media player too. Video, music, podcasts, photos, internet radio, webcams and more — Kinoma Play does it all. And the built-in Kinoma Guide helps you find and play the best of the web.
Recent changes: Kinoma Play is now OpenGL accelerated, providing a faster, smoother user experience than ever Supports Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), continues to work great back to Android 2.1 (Froyo) New Insta Photos app adds Instagram to Kinoma Play, including realtime updates for the Kinoma Play Dashboard New kChat is a simple, beautiful messaging app that supports Facebook, Google Talk (GTalk) and Jabber/XMPP See complete release notes at http://go.kinoma.com/release

★★★★★
Cool.... I experienced kinoma on my windows mobile then i shifted on android compared to windows mobile on android os it provides me a lot of featured fully satisfied....
★★★★★
Loved it for WinMo 6 I still use it on my old WinMo phone to stream audio. It's nice to see it on Android, though not sure it will be as useful. Android already offers a lot of the same functions, but in individual/dedicated apps.
★★☆☆☆
Needs work I don't get this App. It scans your entire device for media (every file including system images etc) & takes forevor to find "your media", then can't play "my videos". Cool concept, but mostly useless @ this point to have a dumbed down os layered over android.
★★☆☆☆
Less relevant now I've been waiting a long time for this app to land on the Android platform. I purchased and used Kinoma play back when I had an IPAQ PDA about 4-years ago. In fact, it was the only app that made that handheld device tollerable in the waining days of Windows Mobile 6.0 devices. When I finally made the switch to an Android phone nearly 2-years ago, I looked in earnest for a program like it to handle media since Kinoma was not on the Android platform then. Since then, I've discovered apps that make this app virtually irrelevant. The design of this long-awaited Android app seems dated and limited. I downloaded and used it briefly, realizing I'd much rather use other standalone apps like Tunein and Beyond Pod, not to mention Pandora, IHeart Radio and YouTube. I think it took the folks at Kinoma too long to deliver a product to the market place that's relevant and leading edge. I'm uninstalling this app. But I'll keep an eye on its development in hopes that it improves by leaps and bounds and becomes an app worth using in place of much better standalone apps at some point in the future.
