★★★★★ I really like Handy GPS. On a work trip I carry equipment that is bulky & fiddly, weighs lots, and $100's of dollars. 2 hardware cameras, a GPS, cables, 2 compasses, a metal in clinometer. On days off Handy GPS is a really good Jack-of-all-trades that serves as well, and far lighter. Hardware capabilities vary with different phones, so I email Anthony with questions, and he suggests workarounds. Lots of features - some of the criticisms I see in these reviews are from people who didn't look through all the options & menus. Hint - the phone's GPS eats battery (Handy GPS doesn't), so carry a portable phone charger.

★★☆☆☆ 2 requests: need permanent Waypoints. They disappear with each new session, and it would be good if things like "HOME" always carried over. Also, more features on the nav screen would help. Like TTM and VMG. Updating review, 2 star less. Updates are causing problems. When I go to a different screen, there is no longer a button to get back to main screen. I have to quit and restart. The app now also stops tracking as soon as the phone screen goes to sleep. I need to hike with the screen on
