Description
Main feature is to allow customers of LABC Members (Local Authorities) to request a Site Inspection. Following installation of the app the user is requested to select Local Authority then to enter profile details (First &Surname Name; Business Name; mobile number; email). Main screen shows these options: Request Site Visit; Call LABC; My Details; About LABC.
Request Site Visit: This prompts for the following information to be added: Site Name; Road name; Town; Postcode; Inspection type (dropdown of options); Date of inspection; Time preferred; Are you at site (Y/N); Reference Number (if known); Further Info.
Next, two options – ‘Request Site Inspection’ or ‘Back’. If request site inspection is selected then email is sent to the selected Local Authority with information collected and also a GPS link to the current location of the app user. Other features: Call LABC – this calls LABC by phone.
My details – this allows profile to be updated.
About LABC – This displays introduction to inspection requests and has a link to the main website. The name of the local authority is displayed where LABC is shown above.

I am a BCO and have tried the app several times to book follow-up inspections for the next day. I also wanted to test it out before mentioning it to builders. I found it really easy to use and self-explanatory and feel sure it will save time as there is no waiting for the phone to be answered. You also get an instant email response, so you know it has been registered. Hopefully many other Building Control authorities will take this up soon.

Rubbish, booked appointment on app, no inspector arrived, phoned BC to be told NFDC BC do not use the app, although they have it on their paperwork.

APP CLAIM'S IT WON'T WORK IN MY AUTHORITY EVEN THOUGH MY AUTHORITY SENT ME TO APP STORE TO DOWNLOAD AND USE APP TO BOOK INSPECTION.

The building inspector said to download this app to book building inspections It's far from intuitive for this simple task. Think I'll end up going old skool and use the phone.

This app won't load. It just showing the progress bar for ages and loads nothing. After ages, it did load and said "your local authority is" empty. Total rubbish
