I'm using this for Spanish, my first second language. The more you interact with it the better it gets. Ask it for a breakdown of what it just said, explain the construction of sentences, speak in colloquial Spanish, practice weak areas. Fantastic app.

I may bump this up later. Free version only gives you 7 minutes, and I spend half that time asking it to do something differently. AI speech patterns are weak at best. Miles behind Chat GPT. It mumbles through '____' underlines meant to be blanks. It also explains lessons and asks questions in the language I'm trying to learn, so I have no idea what it's talking about. And, it's expensive. IMO, it's not trained well enough and the interface isn't good enough to be twice the cost of Duolingo.

After each Chinese phrase it quicky says 'repeat that phrase' and I can't hear the end of the phrase that I'm supposed to say because it talks over it with that instruction. I can't find a way to stop it talking fast after what it wants me to learn and if I can't hear the end of the Chinese sentence I sadly can't learn. It also showed that I hadn't pronounced words correctly but the AI said 'great job' and moved on. I wanted an app to help me talk and work on tones but sadly this one isn't it.

As a dev. The app is very buggy. It sometimes freezes and you have to restart. "Model not working, refresh to get a response" on the chat, users should never see that. Before going to a chat, it says "generating useful phrases" and loads forever. I've seen some UI issues. e.g. the text overflow on the chat text. I like the overall idea of the app, but I might cancel my year subscription. These problems don't have anything to do with the AI constraints, they are basic coding solvable issues.

This app is ok. The problem I'm having is that I have to hold down a button to speak a reply. I'm trying to walk and talk but I can't.
