Comments on Learn French with Le Monde for Android

★★★★★ Dracontias Miasma · Jun 9, 2026

This app is so much fun while at the same time being very effective in teaching you actual French. Love the 'lessons' with its use of cultural references, the movie clips, the animations. Excellent.

★★★★★ Harpreet Channa · Mar 29, 2022

Absolutely fantastic app! It provides with detailed corrections in French and English. It tests you on all levels of learning the basics of a language from writing to listening. The contextual information combined with visual images makes it easier for one to "compere" better. Along with language skills, it reflects French culture too. Couldn't recommend it more. "Au Renoir"

While the app is very nicely made, probably the best of apps I've used, I just can't express how ridiculously expensive it is. Since you cannot do more than a lesson per day, even if you manage to not miss a day you pay for, for the monthly subscription the cost per time learning is about on par with having 1 on 1 lessons with a certified French tutor (given you count in the time spent on homework) and clearly those are superior, as you work on your pronunciation too. It's just unbelievable...

★★☆☆☆ David Bantly · Feb 19, 2023

Let me offer a helpful opinion, if I may. This app provides an engaging path to learning some modalities of French. But I think the design has parameters that are undesirable, to say nothing about price. Essentially, there is no option to advance faster than the lessons, so if you have trip planned in 3 months, and you're motivated to learn, you'll be held back. If a foundational knowledge of French, you can't grow. At $1 each (with deals), it's expensive. And you can't cancel anytime.
