My favorite French learning app. Unfortunately I can only afford it a few months per year. I moved to France and am I taking French courses in the school year, so I use this during the holidays when there are no courses. I really appreciate that you also learn bits of history and culture, and I think that the content is brilliantly written. It is satirical and fun, while also touching and educative. I am sure that Victor Hugo would have appreciated it, if he had lived to experience it.

Very entertaining. The lessons are not too long, easy to do during a little break. The course covers grammar, vocabulary, culture, writing. I tried other free courses, but this one is easier to motivate myself for.

It's a nice, fun app. Franstastique explains rules and grammar (and bits of Francophone culture, which is great) but it is more like a traditional course at school, the lesson alone isn't enough, because repetition is key when learning a language. Franstastique is a good revision tool, but if you're like myself, learning French for the first time, you'll likely find it's not enough on its own. I use it alongside free apps, Duolingo and Drops, which I personally find a fantastic combination 😉

The app said I would get a 7-day trial period. After 2 days day I get a message that I had to subscribe to unlock the content. I must have been too fast going through the content (I was on lesson 5 as I wanted to see how the level-adjusted content would look like to see whether the app would be worth my money). But since they are so petty and don't even give me the full trial time, I'll uninstall the app.

I think you need a basic level of French to access the course. The ongoing story is mildly amusing but slow paced and there are no videos of real conversations in French. I have just noted that you can increase lesson content which I need as the default lesson content is insufficient for most. Lessons are drip fed. It is going to take a long time to learn French this way, and I doubt you will be able to converse. It is very expensive. I feel I made a mistake in subscribing to it.

This is a decent app, but the price is far too high for what you are getting. Each lesson is about 10 minutes, and you get five a week. That's about 3 hours of lessons a month for 50 quid, if you pay on a monthly basis. I can get in person lessons for not much extra. If it was 10 quid a month or less, I would probably subscribe.
