Description
Lightmeter uses the device's light sensor or camera to function as a portable light meter with two modes to offer and a wide variety of functions for digital and film photography. Lightmeter is advertisement free and Privacy Friendly.
Three modes
Incident Calculates the Aperture or Shutter Speed based on light readings. Choose an aperture priority to calculate shutter speed or vice-versa. EV Compensation Get the EV compensation value of the given aperture and shutter speed value. Auto ISO Calculate the nearest ISO value of the given aperture and shutter speed combination.
Additional features - Settings - ND Filter up to ND5.0 - Calibration slider from up to +-10 EV, or input your exact calibration value. - Camera sensor offers spot metering, matrix metering and zoom. - Live mode - Option to adjust interface, basic mode, high-contrast and expanded mode.
Light meter Hardware Limitations: - Live mode using camera will not show if the camera's required features is not supported or limited. - Current phone sensors have a slow refresh rate which limits the light meter from capturing light triggered from Speed lights or Photography Strobes. - Sensitivity of the light meter to low light conditions and camera support may vary from individual phone model and manufacturer.

Great tool for spot measurement when applying the zone system. Also, the matrix measurement is very good. I have used it mainly for training the sunny 16 rule. I've started calibrating by using the light meter of a Nikon D7200. From time to time I check with light meters of digital cameras but so far did not need to recalibrate. I like all the possibilities of fixing iso, aperture or shutter time. This app is the only one that I have found that functions on a Blackberry Keyone.

The app is inaccurate and is often off by 2 stops or more. Each stop is double the amount of light, so 2 stops is 4x the amount of light! It would be excusable to be off by 20 or 30 percent, which would come out to 1/3 stop or so, just due to individual differences between devices, or need for calibration, etc. However, being off by 4x the amount of light, or more, there's no excuse for that.
