Very cool. It does appear to work well; unfortunately it seems my phone light sensor is not designed to react quickly to flashing LED signal. Works great for low frequency such as broken-beam detection or when ambient light level changes (you could put your phone in the fridge and count how many times the door opens and closes), just not working to detect fast strobe frequency. Nice app!

I am an electronic enthusiast and I just developed a circuit that switches poles every 5 mins theoretically. I waited a few times to see if it actually switches on and off keep missing the LED going on or off with other work keeping me busy. I found this app and seamy phone facing the LED....and forgot about it for 15 mins to come back and see the counter showing 3 times triggered. Awesome, now I can do other work while testing circuits by temporarily installing a LED in the circuit for this app

It has all the feature I need except for one. I find the clicking noise a bit short and soft when I use it as a counter for how many laps I ran. Is it possible to have a louder counter sound that reads out the number? Or other louder sound that indicate a reading was registered? Thanks.

This app uses the front facing camera as light sensor no settings to change to the main (back) camera on the mobile phone. Response rate is not good could be an OS issue. Tested with a blinking red LED. Misses many (>50%) of the short (250ms ie ¼s) flashes at 50% duty cycle.
