Scanned and copy-protected PDFs are also supported. OCR and audio/video transcription run on your device. Android uses whisper.cpp for on-device transcription.

YOUR DOCUMENTS, YOUR CHOICE OF AI

Original files, extraction, indexing, and search stay on your device.

With Local AI selected and a compatible model prepared, questions and answer generation also stay on your device and can work offline. Model availability, speed, and stability depend on the device.

With Cloud AI selected, LocalRAG! sends your question and retrieved excerpts to the Claude API — not the original file. Claude Sonnet 5.5 is available in the app. You can also use your own Anthropic API key.

Separately, LocalRAG! sends anonymous usage statistics tied to a random installation ID. They do not contain file contents, question text, or answer text. See the Privacy Policy for details.

ANSWERS WITH SOURCES

Answers include source references. Open the cited document page or audio/video timestamp and verify the result against the imported material.

COLLECTIONS

Organize documents in nested folders up to three levels. Selecting a parent collection includes documents in its child collections for focused Q&A.

BUILT-IN VIEWERS

View PDFs, spreadsheets, presentations, EPUBs, images, and audio/video transcripts inside the app, with thumbnails and timestamp navigation.
