This is insane. I can't believe this is free. For starters, the UI is so clean, secondly, the carbon footprint related stats is genuinely pleasing to look at especially in regards to knowing how data centers are affecting the earth currently. I have a galaxy s26, so it runs really good on my phone. I have the base model, 800 dollar one, so it's not the plus or the ultra and the phone works insanely good for running local AI models.

Really impressed with Loci so far. I especially like that the AI runs directly on my phone instead of sending everything to the cloud. Being able to use it offline, choose different models, and have voice conversations makes it feel much more useful than I expected. The interface is clean and simple too. It’s rare to find an AI app that actually puts privacy first without making the experience feel limited. Definitely worth trying if you want a more private AI assistant.

Looks cool, but you need 5gb ram to use, and I can't force it to download a model regardless. Even though I should have enough ram.

I was looking for a local AI that I could have voice chats with. Enter Loci. Not only did it take 4 days to properly set up, so the voice chat could even be enabled, but it also failed to deliver on every promise out there. Nothing worked. The voice chat barely does transcription and then immediately vanishes without passing the question anywhere or fetching a reply. It's a well imagined AI, but likely still a few years from deployment.

Actually one of the dumbest AI chats I've ever seen. I just wanted to do a simple game of 20 questions, and it asked me like 6 times to say the name of the character I was thinking of, so we could get started. I had to explicitly say I wasn't going to, then it asked me the same question as 5 times in a row because my answer wasn't yes or no.

It includes a license check and a dynamic receiver permission that is not exported. Google Analytics is used on supported Android versions to measure new installs and first successful answers for understanding Google Ads performance, using an app-instance identifier and basic device, network, and referral data—never prompts or answers—and can be turned off in Settings. Importantly, conversations are processed locally and never uploaded, stored only in a local database; diagnostics data exclude prompts, responses, files, or audio, and there are no ads or data selling.
