Description by Sezarr Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.
Big, easy-to-read tiles make this classic game calm on any phone, and every deal is solvable, so a stuck board is never the game's fault. Play the daily challenge, unlock new mahjong layouts and enjoy relaxing tile pairs offline.
Every mahjong board is dealt backwards from a finished table: the game clears an empty layout first and only then hands out the tiles, so a way through always exists. A shuffle rebuilds the board the same way, which is why a shuffled mahjong table can always be cleared too.
How to Play Mahjong Solitaire
Pairtide follows the classic rules, so there is nothing new to learn.
1. Tap a tile, then tap a matching one to clear both. Dots, bamboo and characters match within their own suit and number; winds and dragons match their own face; any flower matches any flower, and any season matches any season.
2. Only a tile that is not covered, with a clear left or right side, is free to take — the same rule the deal itself is built on.
3. No free pair on the board? Undo is always free, and the first shuffle on every board costs nothing either.
4. Clear every tile to finish the board. Three stars reward a clean run: one for clearing, one for beating the target time, one for using no hints and no shuffles.
What Is Inside This Mahjong Game
Everything you could want from a mahjong solitaire, all in one calm app:
• 53 original layouts, from the small 24-tile Pebble up to the full 144-tile board across several layers, including a sea star, a ring, temple steps and a butterfly, all drawn so every tile stays readable in portrait or landscape
• Journey: 600 levels in 30 chapters, with up to three stars on each
• Daily Deal: one board a day, the same for everyone, with a calendar for days you missed, a streak and a trophy for a full month
• Quick play in small, medium or large boards, or pick any layout you have unlocked; leave a board and continue it later
• Eight tile styles, plus new tables to earn by playing, with small corner numbers for easy reading
• Easy-read: bigger, bolder tile pictures, high-contrast faces and a frame round every tile you can take
• Diwali Lights, 1-10 November: three festival boards
• A collection of every layout you have cleared, monthly trophies, awards and 12 achievements
• Daily missions, calm original music and soft tile sounds
• Small download, plays fully offline, interface in 13 languages
Fair Help
Undo never costs anything. The first hint and the first shuffle on every board are free too; after that, a hint or a shuffle costs a few coins, and the game always asks before spending them. A setting can highlight which tiles are free to take, for whenever the table gets busy.
Track Your Progress
