Description
Manyverse is a social network app using the SSB protocol (Secure Scuttlebutt) where you can write posts and share with friends nearby or over the internet. It's different from mainstream social networks because your data is yours, it lives on your phone, not in the cloud. So there is no login, no company holding your data, no ads, no tracking of your activity, it's just you and your friends! The app is free and open source software, and it will always remain free.

Andre~ I want #hashtags, Search Engine, attachments other than self record audio and picture (if video can play ay web browser), word file, videos. Allow attachments for private conversation, able to rename desired nickname of the private conversation. Like 'Anti-Corp Soc Med Legion'. Allow hashtags on private conversation but viewable on @mention users in the private conversation group. Else this app is awesome with ssb #room. (Docker required) :D

Unfortunately, these anti-Facebook projects are run by nerds without any sense of reality. Many verse is no exception: I've installed and launched it, and then what? An empty screen with buttons like subscribe to pub servers. How can I find servers? I can, I find topics or contacts? Do you really believe the average user will leave the FB sharks and rummage Internet to get how to make this working? I'm an IT expert looking for ways to fight the sharks, yet I sadly I've uninstalled this poor app in one minute.

Latest version wouldn't update, so I copied my recovery phrase and uninstalled and reinstalled. Upon entering my phrase the app said it's incorrect.... my account is now apparently lost. I'm keeping the phrase just in case another update in the future fixes this, but uninstalled for now. I'll update when it works.

Stuck on building libraries all the time. When it does work, which is never, it will stop working after a few minutes to rebuild libraries again... Also, it's not possible to hide notifications of who followed/unfollowed/blocked etc. in the feed. It's an okay concept, but it really needs work and is not usable at the moment.

An easy way to get started on Scuttlebutt. Only one star right now because at time of writing I followed two pub servers to look for friends and now the app is stuck "building database indexes... this may take several minutes" so I can't unfollow the pub servers and take back control. Thus, the app is locked up, and I can't use it. It's in beta and a patch is coming out next month. Hopefully it's going to be okay by then.
