MapSwipe is part of the Missing Maps project. It is a free, open-source app that lets anyone contribute to humanitarian and development projects in just minutes a day. No mapping experience needed: review satellite imagery, identify features like buildings, roads, and waterways, and help validate map data used by organizations around the world.
The data you generate supports humanitarian organizations, researchers, and local communities, making OpenStreetMap data more accessible for disaster response, public health, climate resilience, and sustainable development.

Good app and great cause, but I occasionally encounter bugs. A common bug is, during building validations, the app may unexpectedly close or the map tiles don't appear.

My first review was cut off for some reason, so here it is again. 1- show lat/lon of imagery on each screen, so I can use the web to check details if I'm not so sure on the app 2- quick and easy way to mark all 6 tiles as bad imagery, e.g. tap once to select all tiles, tap again to mark as bad and tap once again to confirm. That's 3 taps instead of 18 taps I have to do right now, and there are many instances of full cloud cover on Colombia region. 3- show on summary a list of projects that each user worked on, the no of kms covered and no of objects found per project. This helps users motivated to help in further projects. Right now, all we get is a summary. Simply showing the Level alone is not sufficient; what does a Level 10 compared to Level 8, for example. 4- On my 8" Android tablet, holding down on a square is supposed to show a magnified image of that square but what it actually shows is no bigger or better resolution than the normal square. The magnified square looks better on iPhone or An drone phone but not on the tablet.

New phone and no longer works. Not sure if it is phoned or new version. Can't zoom and also can't swipe. Tutorial also stuck. What a shame.

Why it requires permissions before installation, instead of asking for them as needed? Also, how this data is used? Link to current status would be useful, I am a bit dubious that this data is really usefully used.

Signing up does not work on my Fairphone 3. The app starts, I enter my username, email and password, then the app takes forever loading, and it ends with a message that something went wrong with signing up. Can I create my account via a browser (could not find that option on your website)?
