Description by Laboratory10 Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.
MarsLink allows real-time Mars images from Curiosity and Perseverance to be used as the background for your device. When active, MarsLink will cycle through that day’s downloaded images every half hour. An auto-update feature can be enabled to automatically check for new images from the rover every 24 hours. With both of these options active, you never need to open the app to see the latest images from Mars.
We also added the ability to manually select images for display. This is included in case some images don’t make great backgrounds and you would prefer they not be used. Keep in mind that the manual selection option will reset any time the images from a new day are loaded.
Most importantly, note that none of this would be possible without the efforts of the people involved with the success of the mission. If you are excited to see what MarsLink brings you each sol, you owe it to yourself to learn more about NASA’s ongoing efforts to explore Mars by visiting them at mars.nasa.gov.
