MedTimer is an open-source medication reminder app designed to help you manage your medications and pills effectively and with full control of your sensitive data.
Flexible & Personalized Reminders:
- Manage unlimited medications with customizable reminders per medication (including simple defaults for daily reminders). - Create flexible reminders with breaks and specific days (e.g. for birth control pills). - Weekend mode: Delay reminders to a defined time on chosen days. - Snooze notifications for later reminders or be reminded repeatedly. - Location-based snooze: be re-notified when arriving home after snoozing. - Add extra doses on the fly. - Create interval based reminders, reminders following each other in intervals or interval reminders constrained with a start and end time per day. - Use alarm type reminders to ensure notification even when the device is set to silent mode.

Best open-source and offline medicine tracker. My few critiques are: 1. Medication icons are weird and do not have everything I want (there is no ODT, injection, or liquid medication icon). 2. For "log as needed" medications, there is no way to set dose without setting a schedule. 3. Do not see a way to delete specific medication history stats, you can only clear the entire history. 4. UI is not modern or simplified, though it is easy to understand and use at least for the most part.

I switched to Med Timer from MediSafe. I primarily want an app that's really good at reminders and tracking medication. 1 job done well. Med Timer does that 1 job quite well. I can identify meds, and although it's a bit more manual, I'm happy to jump through a couple of extra steps. It's quite customizable, and the developer seems very nice and that is always a win. MediSafe shims in a lot of superfluous stuff and the recent changes to their privacy policy finally drove me away.

It only notifies when you're in the app, which means you have to remember to take your pills, so you can log into the app to log you took your pill, which defeats the whole purpose

There needs to be done better instructions with this. I can't get reminders or alarms to work after struggling with this for days. It's not overriding my fo not disturb or notification column settings. Taking my meds is too important to rely on this unreliable app.

Seems buggy. Added meds, set the appropriate interval based schedules, never appeared correctly on the overview tab. Changing the scheduling had zero impact on overview. Gives me low confidence this works properly for something as important as medication scheduling. Unfortunate, since I was hoping this open source option would work.
