Metronome – Tempo & Rhythm

Rock-solid time. Every feature free.

Metronome – Tempo & Rhythm is a sample-accurate metronome that is beautiful to look at and complete like the paid apps: subdivisions, accents, odd meters, polyrhythms, a tempo trainer, gap clicks, presets and setlists. For drummers, guitarists, pianists, singers, music students and every musician who practises with a click.

PRECISE TIMING
• Every click is scheduled inside the native audio engine, at the exact sample: no timer jitter, no drift, even after an hour.
• A tempo change is heard on the next beat, a new time signature on the next bar, without a jump.
• The beat lights up in sync with the sound: the delay of the audio output is compensated.

TEMPO
• 20 to 400 BPM on a big dial: drag around it with one finger, use −5 −1 +1 +5, or tap the number to type it.
• Tap tempo: tap the TAP button in time; stray taps are ignored.
• Tempo markings from Largo to Prestissimo next to the BPM.

METER AND ACCENTS
• Any time signature from 1 to 16 beats over 2, 4, 8 or 16: 4/4, 3/4, 6/8, 5/4, 7/8, 12/8…
• Groupings for odd meters, such as 7/8 = 2+2+3 or 3+2+2.
• Four accent levels for every beat: accent, normal, soft or muted. Just tap the dots.

SUBDIVISIONS
• Eighths, triplets, sixteenths, quintuplets, sextuplets and swing with an adjustable ratio (50% straight, 67% triplet feel).

8 SOUNDS
• Digital click, wood block, cowbell, beep, kick & hi-hat, clave, rimshot and soft mallet, each with its own accent, beat and subdivision sound. All made on the phone.

PRACTICE MODES
• Tempo trainer: raise (or lower) the tempo by a step every few bars, up to a target.
• Gap click: some bars play, some are silent. Train your inner clock and check that you land with the click.
• Polyrhythms: 3:2, 4:3, 5:4 and any pair up to 16, with two sounds and a circular view.

PRESETS AND SETLISTS
• Save tempo, meter, accents, subdivision and sound as presets.
• Build setlists for a gig and move to the next song with a tap, the arrow keys or a Bluetooth page-turner pedal.

ON STAGE
• Keeps playing with the screen off, with Play and Pause in the notification.
• Optional full-screen flash and vibration on the beat.
• Screen stays on while it plays (optional). Calls pause it.
