Mint: Make Friends Nearby

Mint is a map of what's actually happening near you — and who nearby is already into the same things.

Open it and you see your own neighbourhood: local events on this week, interest communities you could join, and hotspots where people near you share your interests. Tap any pin for the details, the description, and who else is interested.

No feed. No swiping. Just what's on, and who's going.

MEET PEOPLE NEARBY, ON PURPOSE

Most apps for meeting people leave you scrolling. Mint starts from a map of your own suburb and shows you the things you could actually turn up to this week — and the people nearby who like what you like.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Discover local events on the map
See events and interest groups near you, filtered to the interests you care about. Running, hiking, dog walking, yoga, climbing, board games, book clubs, surfing, football, coffee — pick yours and the map fills with things to do near you.

Follow the overlap with hotspots
A hotspot is a loose cluster of people near you who share overlapping interests. Nothing happening there yet? That's the point — it's a reason to start something, and the people it's made of will hear about it.

Create an event or a community
Start your own in about a minute. Tag the interests it belongs to, and the people nearby who share those interests can discover it. Choose who can join: anyone, ask to join, or invite only.

Join interest communities
Communities are where a group lives between events — plans, photos, polls and group conversations, all in one place. Join a community and talk about your interest and everything under the sun.

Chat before you turn up
Message the host directly, or the whole community, before the day. So the first time you meet people isn't a cold start.

Everything in your Hub
What you're hosting, what you're going to, what you've saved, and the people you've met along the way.

Show up, level up
Sparks and streaks — a small, unserious nudge for actually leaving the house and meeting people near you.

WHO IT'S FOR

People who have moved somewhere new and want to make friends locally. People whose friends have drifted into different schedules. Anyone who would rather join a running club, a dog walking group or a book club than scroll through another feed.

BUILT FOR REAL LIFE

Mint is about meeting people in person, not collecting followers.

You choose what you share. Your exact location is never shown to other people — people nearby see an approximate area, never a pin on your house. You can block or report anyone at any time, and you can delete your account and all of its data from inside the app.

Free to use.
