The primary function I wanted from my app was to change the exercise interval or to request exercise manually. It was there, and you took it away making it available only to subscription membership. So you realize it would be useful. The generator is noisy. It would be useful to align its exercise with noisy lawn service.

Update 8/16/26 Still enjoying the Generac app...really like seeing the notice even when I'm out of town that it's running the weekly maintenance check. It also stores contact info about my service provider and propane levels... Great peace of mind. What a comfort...being able to monitor status remotely...also had first experienced with utility outage and Generac filling in... Great feeling

Recovery from an internet crash delayed remote recovery of my generator by my provider. They gave me very easy steps to restart my generator. The updates to the app was helpful to diminish the chance of this happening.

Doesn't even show if generator is running!? Why else would I have the app?! Last activity, when it exercised week ago, not the power outage we are currently having. Status history, also wrong. Doesn't give how long it ran. Doesn't even say it ran, you can just guess "Your generator is ready to run" after time when you know there was an outage. Still going to exercise the exact same morning after it already ran an hour and a half and changing that is a premium feature. $20 toys have better apps.

Never updates status in Basic (free) service. The generator is connected to Wi-Fi with a strong signal (-56 dbm). Router shows it is connected on client list too. I deleted cache and storage, reloaded app, verified serial number, rebooted generator. It pings successfully from the generator console also. The app just doesn't work. I expect more from Generac. Even my $100 irrigation controller has a better Wi-Fi status app. I think Generac purposely crippled the basic app for subscription $.

I received a low oil message from the app. Technician came and thought it was bogus because the green light was on and not red. Upon investigation, the top oil cap was loose resulting in spillage from the top. He tightened it and refilled the oil. The app continued after he had corrected the problem showed the low oil message, and it will not disappear even after multiple reboots of my phone. The streaming status message says it's ready to run but the yellow alert message hasn't disappeared!
