Description

Vervet monkeys and Baboons are invading our homes and trying to steal our food. Use this app to detect an intrusion by pointing your phone camera at the open window or door. A siren will announce the presence of a monkey or baboon.

Using the power of Machine Learning the camera can detect the presence of any type of monkey. Plug your phone into a speaker for added volume!

Try it yourself right now, point the camera at a picture of any monkey!

This app will not be triggered by the presence of humans or domestic animals.

Check out circusscientist.com if you are interested in details on how this app works. I used fritz.ai as the back end, it does a one-time online check-in and after that works offline just fine, so no big data usage.

Camera permissions are required for obvious reasons

This app will keep your screen on while in use.

Internet permissions are for initial registration (on first run) - after that it runs offline just fine.

Requires fast processor with > 1GB of RAM

Recent changes:
Detects monkeys using the camera Using Machine Learning (also works for Baboons)
Siren sounds to alert you to intrusion

Updated version 2 fixes an issue where the siren didn't sound on some devices.
