Description
Join the world's largest mosquito surveillance network. Contribute to the study and monitoring of invasive mosquitoes and mosquitoes of epidemiological interest with the Mosquito Alert app. With it you will be able to report mosquito observations, mosquito breeding sites, and keep a record of mosquito bites.
By sharing your observations, you will be providing information that scientists can use in their research to better understand the ecology of mosquitoes, disease transmission, and provide data to improve their management.
Mosquito Alert is a citizen science project coordinated by several public research centers, CEAB-CSIC, UPF and CREAF, whose objective is to study, monitor and fight against the spread of disease-carrying mosquitoes.
What can you do with the app?
-Notify the presence mosquitoes -Identify their breeding places in your area -Notify when you receive a bite -Validate the photos of other participants
A community of more than 50 international expert entomologists will validate the photos you send to the platform, thus being able to learn to identify the mosquito species of health interest. All observations are made public on the Mosquito Alert map website, where they can be viewed and downloaded, as well as exploring the models developed from the contributions of the participants.

Very useful app. I think I've caught a bug, though: when submitting again after an n-day period of no reporting, any daily report after the first one is often automatically assigned a status of 'no classification' (across the 5 possible cases) irrespective of AI being able to identify the specific mosquito.

Great app, good to see a none for profit research initiative using cellphones to enable collective action. Pretty simple to use

The in-app camera is not good enough to take photos where one can identify the mosquito and since the latest update I can't upload already existing photos - so basically I can't use this app anymore. Edit: thank you for the update!

Simple, elegant and (hopefully) effective. It would be great if the app would allow for only selected pictures to be granted access to or was made in a way, so we could also use the macro camera on our phones; I then found though that the app has access to all media regardless of permission settings 😅

Wow! It's great, it's really amazing. In my opinion it is best, and it doesn't require any improvements. And who are saying this app fake are really ___________. I think they will know what to be filled in that dash. And every person have different mindset, so everyone will have different words for them to fill in that dash. But according to me, they are dullard.

Does not work on my Pixel 2. App opens, but I get stuck on the main screen with a loading sign in front of all the buttons. The buttons to report bite, mosquitos or breeding site do not work

Why would a mosquito alert app need to access files on my device? Uninstalled

Great idea in theory. Tried to report a mosquito (the main function of the app) and it wouldn't let me select a location because it wasn't even showing the map. Also, couldn't find anywhere to report this as a glitch in the app. I heard about this 5 years ago and was told the app didn't work well, but I hoped it would be better by now, guess I know why no one uses it- because it doesn't work properly enough to function.

Looks like a proper app but does not work on my phone. Asks for movement and location access, and I did not grant those. First I want to see what it does before I grant accesses. But now it keeps on showing a loading circle forever. Uninstalling.
