I was able to check timings and buy tickets easily. Could be faster in pulling up the ticket. I liked that it showed the track that the train was arriving at at grand central in real time. I really wish we had a rail card/system that covered the entire metro area/state/country, though.

I have been scammed through the use of this app numerous times by the LIRR resulting in loss of funds and unusable tickets. Customer service is either nonexistent or rude and unwilling to help. I have also heard that they track your location and will fine you and block your account for weeks if you buy or activate a ticket on the train which makes no sense since you are still permitted to buy tickets from the conductor on board. Stick to paper tickets. Truly negative stars.

They track you, when you buy your ticket, and where. They will fine you if you forget to buy and activate before boarding. Running to catch a train, don't, you will get fined if you get on before buying and activating your ticket. Buy in advance? Nah they expire hours after you buy it now. This is Kafkaesque, it's like it is designed for you to fail. Great job MTA, raising the bar.
