Description
Ear training is highly essential for any musician - be it a composer, singer, songwriter or instrumentalist. It practices the ability to connect music theory elements (intervals, chords, scales) with real sounds you hear. The benefits of mastering ear training include improved intonation and musical memory, confidence in improvisation or the ability to transcribe music more easily.
MyEarTraining makes ear training practice possible almost anywhere and anytime on the go, thus saving you from the hassle of assembling musical instruments. You can practically train your ears while waiting at the bus stand, traveling, or even at your coffee desk.
>> APP FOR ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS Whether you are new to music theory, need to prepare for an intensive school exam, or are an experienced musician, there are over 100 aural exercises to help you push your music skills. Users with no ear training experience begin with simple perfect intervals, major vs. minor chords and simple rhythms. Advanced users can progress through seventh chord inversions, complex chord progressions and exotic scale modes. You can use tonal exercises with solfeggio or singing exercises to improve your inner ear. Input answers using buttons or virtual piano keyboard. For major music topics, MyEarTraining offers different courses and lessons including basic music theory. Interval songs and practice piano are also included.
>> COMPLETE EAR TRAINING MyEarTraining app works by combining different ear training approaches like isolated sounds, singing exercises, and functional exercises (sounds in tonal context) to train your ears, thus maximizing results. It’s designed for musicians who want to improve their relative pitch recognition abilities and get one step further towards perfect pitch.

So far the best ear training app I've found. Interval, always relates to some starting point. There are other apps out there, Snowfield is one such that ignores this essential fact. They play a root followed by as many as seven sequential tones without ever referencing the root. But Overtraining gets it correct, always starting with a root or reference note

Very wonderful app for training the ear indeed... Recently, few pitches don't sound in certain exercises ... Why is that?

So far no problems. Interface is good. Straight forward to use, and I hope practicing these exercises will help me. For beginners, this is probably usable if you have a faint background knowledge of music theory essentials, but you are still probably able to work the app out without too much of that prior knowledge.

I've tried a handful of apps and for me this is the best. There's lots of free stuff to keep you going for quite a while. It's simply laid out which I prefer. Some people have said it's difficult to use?? I love it because the exercises progress well and are very relevant to what I want which is to have musical hearing. I'm not tone-deaf, but I've always had problems hearing notes, scales, intervals etc., so much so that it's destroyed my confidence despite being a very good guitarist. Thank you.

You left out the concept of note identification. Play the v-1 cadence in c major then strike any diatonic or chromatic note and identify the note. Do this for 1 note then for two notes at once then three notes at once up to ten notes at once and identify all the notes that are played. Note identification is better than your ear training app. You need to include note identification as part of your ear training app

While doing the solfège exercise it was telling me that the answer was sol when it was definitely fa. I played it on piano to be sure.

Interface looks like "my first HTML" ca 1998 and is equally as navigable. I can live with that. Instructions are vague at best, so you need to play in order to learn what you're supposed to-do. I can live with that. App tells me to sing a minor third down, in this case a Db. The inbuilt-tuner says C# so the app tells me it's the wrong note. Deletes app.
