Description
Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is a major global public health issue, with millions dying of sudden cardiac arrest every year. Worldwide data shows that 68.8% of OHCA occurs at home and about 15% at the workplace. More than half of OHCAs occur without any witness, and in Malaysia, only 22.6% of the population received bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Pan-Asian Resuscitation Outcomes Study (PAROS) has reported that in Malaysia, the median time of the call to 999 after an arrest is 19.0 minutes and the median time for emergency medical services (EMS) to arrive at the scene is 17.4 minutes.
According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the survival rate of OHCA is 10-12%, while the PAROS registry has observed that the survival rate from OHCA in Malaysia is low at 1.6% compared to Korea at 9.8%.
When someone experiences cardiac arrest, their heart has completely stopped beating. Their chance of survival with intact neurologic function increases if the bystanders provide immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The 30-day survival rate is 10.5% when CPR is performed before EMS arrival versus 4.0% when CPR is not performed before EMS arrival.
The key treatment of OHCA is the ‘chain of survival’, which comprises early recognition, immediate CPR, rapid defibrillation, basic and advanced EMS intervention, and post-resuscitation care.
MyResQ is led by an experienced team of emergency physicians and clinicians determined to help reduce the death and disability statistics caused by cardiac arrest.
Our team seek to champion this cause which could save more lives. We have started a novel approach via mobile application technology to activate nearby rescuers to reduce the emergency response duration.

This is a great app to have in case of an OCHA emergency situation. My family all have heart diseases and I have close family members who have died of cardiac arrest that is why when I heard about this app, I immediately inform all my family members to download the app and to use it in case one of us collapse. Great idea. Great app. Easy to use. KYC took some time but overall the signup experience was to be expected.

I can't click on my gender. It only allows to select Male but not female. For occupation, I am retired, but there's no selection for this category. I tried to delete my phone number because I have decided not to install this app, but it won't allow me to delete my phone number. I hope nothing will happen since my phone number is taken into their system. I strongly don't recommend installing this app.
