Even the free version is incredibly good, the free voices are robotic but not irritating like other text to speech apps. I tend to use this as a personal audiobook app rather than for work/school efficiency. The only issues I have with it are the occasional-skipped line, the difficulty it has with italics, and the occasional file going missing when I go to reread it. All of which are recent issues in the past 2 years. It's overall very good though, and I've been using it for about 4-5 years now.

Would be a 5 if the phone version free variant voices were actual English-speaking people. The people they used have accents and because of their accents I can't understand what they are reading for text I place. I'm hoping the pc version has my favorite voice because if it doesn't, I'm going to be very pissed off.

It used to work well, but the more AI features they implement the worse it gets. I used to like saving longer texts in the library to come back to, but have started noticing that it will just pick and choose deleting things throughout your library in between logging in. The free voices you pin will never show up nor stay pinned when you try to select them, forcing you into an AI paid voice as default despite not being able to actually use it as a free user. I'm looking for alternate apps.

The functionality is very limited given its cost, seems they forgot to actually invest in the app when investing in the AI. there is no paragraph or sentence repeat, there is no article repeat or repeat of your reading list. Any interruption and it tends to repeat from the beginning. It is generally very frustrating to use.

Worked fine at first, the something changed, and now I can no longer use the voices I have been for hours unless I pay. I assumed that when I ran out of time with those voices it would default to a generic robot voice, but no, the only available options are English speech with the thickest hispanic accents imaginable. I had to double-check that it was even still English lol. What good is text to speech if I can't even understand what is being read?
