paper audio has replaced every other audiobook app I've tried. The voices sound genuinely human, the interface is clean and intuitive, plus it has text highlighting while reading. 56 hours of audio generation per week is more than enough for me. Most TTS engines sound robotic, or drop weird pauses mid-sentence. None of that here. It flows like a real person is reading to you. Simply the best.

Reddit pointed me to this app and what a great discovery that has been! Very generous free plan and surprisingly realistic voices. I'm impressed! The Orator voice is currently my favorite for reading epub files. As someone who likes to write books, it's nice to be able to hear my work played back for editing. The one feature I'd love to have would be a way to turn on the ability to have footnotes played. One of my books uses footnotes heavily and those are the best parts in my opinion.

Nothing beats this text-to-speech app, especially after Eleven Readers crazy price hike. My only complaint is that there isn't a dictionary option in the app. I suggest adding an online built-in dictionary or external offline dictionary for convenience.

Very bad experience. Installed based on reviews, but the UI is confusing and not privacy-friendly. Doesn't support books properly, only small docs. Not free. Voices sound slightly high-pitched. I uploaded an eBook, and it sent it to their servers without warning, then made me wait 20 minutes only to say the file was too large. It also downloads unknown books automatically. Not a real TTS app—audio isn't processed on-device. Very bad.

Keeps saying can't sign into google, needs permission for sign in prompt from android, but when look at permissions, it has permission.
