NetGuard uses the Android VPNService to route traffic to itself, so it can be filtered on-device instead of on a server. Only one app can use this service at the same time, which is a limitation of Android.

Net guard is FANTASTIC, as long as you don't download it from Google Play Store! I love the creator of this app! He also has another app called AIRMAIL that is also FANTASTIC, I just wish he had his own website where his two FANTASTIC apps could be downloaded from! His apps are so great, that I would be willing to pay just for downloading his apps from his own website! Then I woùld pay for his apps AFTER downloading them from his website, I have paid for Airmail, but I would pay again!🥰🥰🥰

App does what it's meant to do. Marcel has maintained this app for over 8 years, and is committed to user privacy. The app can not be used in conjunction with a VPN as it has to route through the native android VPN function to work, and only one application can occupy that function at a time. So if you're looking to block connections from specific applications, but don't wish the use a VPN, then this is the application for you! Many thanks to the creator Marcel.

Google play install not work. "No Root Firewall" tool was better.

Worked well for about a week. Then all of a sudden, no apps appeared on list except Bixby and Keyboard. Everything else gone. Turning on the setting to block all internet didn't work either. I have no idea if this is supposed to be an app that only works if you pay, but no help message on why everything just stopped. Basically no real value after that first week.
