NetGuard uses the Android VPNService to route traffic to itself, so it can be filtered on-device instead of on a server. Only one app can use this service at the same time, which is a limitation of Android.

Everything about the app is good however it can't block network traffic from apps that use Google services which is 90 percent of apps on android. So for me the app doesn't have much benefit, hopefully one day this feature will be added in.

The Pinnacle of firewalls, in my opinion, because I figured out how to get this one to enforce data rules in combination with my VPN enabled, and running since Android 13, and that's why I hold this developer in such high esteem. And his "FAIR EMAIL" app is also a firewall, but for email, "ANY AND ALL EMAIL ACCOUNTS" 5⭐ from me.

Can't tell if it's working. No notifications regarding any actions it's taking. No report on the apps that are trying to run data in the background or if it's stopped any apps from doing that.

It doesn't work at all. The app doesn't block internet for the selected apps.

Not reliable enough to keep your data plan safe from flaky Wi-Fi disconnecting in the middle of a YouTube or twitch stream. Works 90 percent of the time, but that 10 percent still blew my data cap.
