Description

Dada la necesidad de monitorizar los arenales costeros por la vulnerabilidad del litoral ante el cambio climático (Estrategia Gipuzkoa Klima 2050) y para la mejor gestión de playas, el Departamento de Medio Ambiente y Obras Hidráulicas de la Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa decidió en 2017 poner en marcha la Red Foral de Videometría Litoral de Gipuzkoa.

Los arenales de Gipuzkoa son un patrimonio natural de primer orden, y gracias a herramientas como el sistema de videometría costera KostaSystem desarrollado por el centro tecnológico AZTI (www.azti.es) es posible, por un lado, mejorar su protección y tomar medidas para prevenir los impactos del cambio climático en nuestro litoral y, por otro, mejorar la seguridad y el bienestar de las personas usuarias de las playas.

La información suministrada en esta herramienta es un esfuerzo de poner a disposición de la ciudadanía la mejor información disponible, de cara al disfrute de las playas durante la temporada estival de manera responsable y segura. En cualquier caso, los rangos de ocupación y los niveles de aforo que aquí se muestran son orientativos y serán las autoridades competentes las que, en base a estos criterios y a otros que consideren pertinentes, puedan abrir o cerrar el acceso a las playas o dar las recomendaciones oportunas en cada caso.
