Biometric capture is the hardest part of this app. It didn’t work on my Samsung Tab S7+ or iPhone 16 Pro Max (kept giving errors), but I eventually succeeded with an iPhone 14 Pro. Seems not fully optimized for newer iPhones yet. Works better on Android devices with good cameras and iPhone 15 and below. However, it saved me the cost and stress of traveling to Ottawa since I’m based in Winnipeg, Canada.

I downloaded the app to apply for passport renewal, but it's asking me for my application or reference number, like where am I supposed to get it. I thought the app was for applying online and just running everything without being there physically. And for the 5 stars, I just love Nigeria edit: I now discovered that I have to apply online first on the website to get application or reference. I have gotten that, but the eligibility says I'm not. Customer care is not responding

Understand where people get it wrong; This app does exactly what it says it does. And very smoothly. Understand that your login to the NIS application is for the applications... Most people create the application on the PC, and then the username and password are rejected when trying to log in for biometrics on the app. The app is meant to confirm your status and prepare you for biometrics, so you need to create a fresh profile for the sake of the app. This is not normal though. NIS take note!

I can't find the option to start a passport application after downloading the app. Physical appointment available on NIS website is in six months time. I am frustrated, Nigeria let's try to create excellent and efficient systems please, it's not that hard 😔

The new NIS contactless App latest upgrade has really made originally brilliant & excellent design to the worst App/failure, Is it the joy of NIS Abuja HQ unlike NIMC(NIN)for Nigerians in the diaspora & at home to have their Nigerian E-Passport renewal with ease/to make Nigerians to suffer, why not allow applicant multiple biometric enrollment attempts trial if first failed but once, applicant locked & forced to book face to face appointment in London/the nearest embassy which is now 5-6month wait, TA

A very horrible application. Nigeria should do better, nothing works, All down to a common biometric app. Haba this is a very poor application. Takes you months to capture biometrics, it's really sad. An awful application. If I can rate it 0.2 I will. Google store should please take this app down it's rather useless
