Calendar reminders are a polite tap on the shoulder. If your phone is face down, on silent, or you are deep in something else, a notification will not save you. NMAM turns your meetings into real alarms - the kind that ring like an alarm clock, not the kind you scroll past.
Built to stop a company owner from sleeping through his own meetings. He hasn't missed one since.
THE ESCALATION LADDER
Instead of one reminder you can ignore, NMAM escalates:
* A soft chime at T-10, so you can start wrapping up * A firmer alert at T-5, so you can walk to the room * A full alarm at T-1 that rings until you dismiss it
Three built-in presets:
* Gentle - one soft alert five minutes out, for calendars you trust yourself with * Standard - chime, alert, then full ring * Paranoid - T-30, T-10, T-5, T-1 and T-0. You will not miss it.
Every step is editable: offsets, a different sound per step, vibration strength, which steps ring until dismissed. Assign a different ladder to each calendar, so work meetings escalate hard and personal events stay gentle.
RINGS WHEN NOTIFICATIONS DON'T
NMAM schedules genuine alarm clock alarms, not push notifications. The alarm gets the alarm treatment from Android: it rings on the alarm audio channel, takes over the lock screen, and keeps ringing until you deal with it.
JOIN FROM THE ALARM
If the meeting has a video link, NMAM puts a Join button right on the alarm screen. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex are detected automatically. Wake up, tap Join, you're in.
A CALENDAR ALARM THAT KNOWS WHAT A MEETING IS
Not every calendar entry deserves an alarm. NMAM filters:
* Only events with other attendees (a solo block is not a meeting) * Skip all-day events * Skip events you've declined * Match or exclude by title, with regex for power users
Pick exactly which calendars to watch. Everything else is left alone.
QUIET HOURS, WITH AN OVERRIDE
Set a window - 23:00 to 06:00 by default - where NMAM never fires. Then flag the one 6am call that actually matters as critical, and it rings through anyway. Guardrails, without losing the meeting that matters.
SNOOZE-PROOF MODE
For the alarms you cannot afford to sleep through. Snooze stays one tap, but dismissing requires typing the first word of the meeting name - enough friction to be sure you're actually awake.
YOUR CALENDAR NEVER LEAVES YOUR PHONE
There is no account. There is no sign-in. There is no server.
NMAM reads your calendar on your device, read-only, and builds alarms there. Your meeting titles, attendees and links are never uploaded, analysed or sold, because there is nowhere for them to go. No analytics, no tracking, no ad networks. This is not a privacy policy promise - it's the architecture.
A GOOD ALARM CLOCK TOO, FREE FOREVER
NMAM includes a proper alarm clock: digital and analog faces, a bedside mode that dims the screen while charging, repeating alarms, and eight original sounds from a gentle marimba roll to a submarine dive horn. The basic alarm clock stays free forever, with no ads.
