Description
CSIR - National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur has launched a mobile application "Noise Tracker" to spread awareness against noise pollution. The Noise Tracker app (Sound Meter App) has been developed by young researchers from CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur.
The Noise Tracker App is a real time noise monitoring application dedicated to evaluate noise levels in the surrounding environment as professional sound meter performs. This App will use the phone microphone to measure environmental noise levels (decibels) and display noise levels on the mobile screen. With this app, you can measure the current noise level emerging from various kind of sources efficiently and effectively. Simple operation and easy for handling.

- Indicates decibel by gauge (both analog and digital) - Quick response on sound level changes - Display the current noise reference - Display SPL,Leq, Minimum and Maximum decibel values - Display Elapsed time of decibel - Data storage in phone - SPL user can save sound meter data along with GPS co-ordinates in the phone - Saved data can be viewed in a tabular as well as in a Map format. - The saved data can be shared across multiple platforms such as Gmail, WhatsApp etc. - Sound calculator – Addition, Ldn (Day-Night average SPL) Barrier attenuation calculation
Recommendations for the 'best' measurement: - The smartphone microphone should not be hidden. - The smartphone should not be in the pocket but should held on hand while noise measurements. - Don’t make a noise on the back of the smartphone while monitoring noise. - Keep a safe distance from the source during noise monitoring, otherwise it may harm you.

**Notes This tool is not a professional device to measure decibels. Microphones in most android devices are aligned to human voice. The maximum values are limited by the device. Very loud sounds (over ~90 dB) may not be recognized in most devices. So please use it as just auxiliary tools. If you need more accurate dB values, we recommend an actual sound level meter for noise measurements.

It's a wonderful app and must keep it for current situation because from home to office, workplace and even in our surroundings of home everywhere is surrounded with noise pollution... exposure of those sounds for longer time can cause hearing impaired which is a drastic health and social problem, which most of our younger generation not understand thank u providing this type of useful app

Very good👍🏾it meter s working👌🏾if extra video audio options r added it'll b more useful nearby church using loudspeaker which s hitting 70db n silent zone that to around 50 meters away 4 m church keep on complaining to pollution control board tey r redirecting te Letter to the nearest police station nt to collector r commissioner does pollution control board don't ve rights to take on loudspeaker usage I don't know 4 m May 2025 till Jan 2026 my📱memory filled th mp4 mp3 screenshot in GB counts

There is no option for giving zero start hence 1-star rating... App is terribly designed, and the interface is literally bill shit ...... And there is no actual use of it rather I expected more of CISR-NEERI, but I guess it's just waste of taxpayers. 👎👎👎👊
