Sound Meter

★★★★★ Sound Meter is simple to use even as it rolls several complex functions into the easy and attractive interface: metering is supported by analysis tools and the ability to record and share. Some apps that go into greater depth on specific features, but Sound Meter offers the best range of basic functions which are delivered efficiently and relatively accurately. And face it - if you're really serious about your metering you won't limit your work by using a generic tool such as a cell phone.

★★★★★ Used this to set speaker levels for my 5.1 home theater receiver. My receiver came with a mic for Odyssey auto speaker calibration, but it didn't seem to get it right, so I installed THIS to see the average db of each individual speaker playing white noise, and manually adjusted each speakers' level to 56db at my normal listening volume. THIS got me way closer to perfect balance than the software/mic my receiver provided. Thanks for the handy tool! I saw zero ads!

★★★★★ Ads are annoying but seems to be more accurate than a lot of the apps.

★★☆☆☆ After giving the review with 5 stars then the ADS started really aggressive, changed to 2 stars.

★★☆☆☆ As others have pointed out, as soon as you rate this app you're completely spammed with ads. After rating, touching any button will get you to a temu ad page and then install screen. Worse yet, it doesn't appear to be even close to accurate. Though it might depend on hardware, my Pixel 5A last night, at a LOUD blues club, sitting in front of the PA, registered 90 dB. No way, no how was that correct. Guy next to me running a different app and phone was getting 115 - 118. AVOID!
