NookScan: Hidden Camera Finder

Staying in a hotel, holiday rental or short-term let? NookScan helps you look for hidden cameras and transmitting devices using your phone's own Wi-Fi, camera and sensors, then walks you through a careful physical search of the room.

WHAT NOOKSCAN CHECKS
• Your Wi-Fi network: lists the devices on the network you're connected to and flags ones with open video-stream ports or that announce themselves as network cameras.
• Camera sweep: turns on the flash and highlights small steady reflections that can come from a camera lens, with an infrared mode for dark rooms. A guided plan covers every wall at three heights.
• Magnetometer: shows magnetic field spikes near hidden electronics.
• Room checklist: 15 common hiding places, from smoke detectors and clocks to USB chargers, vents and mirrors, with notes and photos for each.
• Mirror test and power-source check: simple guides for two-way mirrors and suspicious chargers.

NOOKSCAN PRO
• Nearby hotspot scan: many mini cameras broadcast their own setup Wi-Fi hotspot. Pro looks for those names.
• Bluetooth scan and a live Bluetooth list.
• Live tracking bar with vibration to walk towards a device's signal.
• Unlimited sweeps, PDF reports and checklists for every room.
Free: one sweep a day (Wi-Fi network and camera sweep), the tools and all the guides.

HONEST RESULTS
Every result is rated Low, Medium or High and explains why. NookScan says "possible devices found" and never tells you a room has nothing in it. A flagged device can be something ordinary, like a smart TV or a video doorbell.

WHAT IT CAN'T DO
NookScan cannot detect devices that don't transmit, such as SD-card cameras or offline recorders. That's why it always ends with a physical search of the room.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account and no sign-up.
• Scan results, notes and photos stay on your phone. Nothing is uploaded.
• It only scans the Wi-Fi network you're connected to, and never logs in to devices or opens their video.

IF YOU FIND SOMETHING
NookScan tells you what to do: don't touch it, photograph it, contact the host or booking platform, and report it to local police.
