Notes Widget for Markdown

I moved my notes from Google Keep to plain Markdown files in Obsidian. The one thing I missed was the Keep widget, so I built one.

Pick a folder of .md files (an Obsidian vault or any other folder) and your notes show up on the home screen as cards or a compact list. Tap a note to open it in Obsidian or your favourite Markdown app.

WHAT'S NEW IN 1.3
• Background colour and transparency, so the widget fits any wallpaper
• Fast notes as bullets or checkboxes, chosen right in the dialog
• Send feedback from settings, no account needed
• Now also in Russian, Portuguese, Italian and Ukrainian

TWO WIDGET STYLES
Cards show a Markdown preview with headings, lists, checkboxes and links. The compact list shows only titles, so more notes fit.

QUICK CAPTURE
One tap adds a line or a ☐ checkbox to a note you choose, without opening any app. Perfect for groceries, ideas and to-dos.

MAKE IT YOURS
Colour each card, set its height and text size, and drag to reorder. Add single files from other folders next to your folder notes.

WORKS WITH OBSIDIAN, OR WITHOUT IT
Obsidian doesn't have to be installed. Any app that saves plain Markdown files works the same way.

YOUR NOTES STAY YOURS
No account, no ads, no cloud. The app reads the files you already have, where they are, through Android's own file picker. Nothing is copied or uploaded. Optional, anonymous usage and crash reports are off until you agree.

FREE AND OPEN SOURCE
GPL-3.0. Code and an F-Droid style build without internet permission are on GitHub: github.com/marfolog/notes-widget-for-markdown

FOR GIT USERS
If your notes folder is a git repository, a small chip shows when sync last ran and warns about a stuck merge or unpushed work. Works with Obsidian Git, Git Sync or command-line git.
