Comments on TaskForge - Obsidian Tasks for Android

★★★★★ Alasdair Hitchen · Jul 20, 2026
Absolutely the best way to do tasks across mobile and your vault. No awkward man-in-the-middle plugins, no big setup, works with the standard tasks' plugin. Having to open Obsidian to sync is slightly annoying, but there are workarounds.
★★★★☆ Sofia Visser · Apr 7, 2026
Love that it uses my Obsidian vault. I can use a task management Obsidian plugin on PC, and Task Forge on mobile It's not perfect, there's some features I find myself wanting, like customizing status colors & using my own font. The developer was responsive when I reported a bug, and seeing from other reviews how the app has gotten a lot of new features, I have great hopes it'll get better and better with time :)
★☆☆☆☆ Gábor Lippert · Aug 8, 2026
Just another productivity app with a non-functional free version. "Upgrade to use widgets"? Lol, the only reason someone would use such app is fidgeting. Uninstalled - luckily, there's a plethora of great markdown event mgmt apps out there with free widgets feature - the only reason I gave this a try was its Obsidian connection. Well, waste of time. 🤷
★★☆☆☆ David Mabe · Jun 22, 2026
It's awkward to have to open obsidian and wait for it to sync up or down when I want to manage tasks on the run. I love task notes and the interface for this is wonderful and well done. So well done that I paid for the lifetime subscription and cancelled my ticktock subscription in my exuberance. I have since gone back to ticktock because it feels to rough to have to focus on getting my tasks in sync every time I think of something to add or finish something and want to transition to the next.
★★☆☆☆ John Hawley · Sep 26, 2025
Unfortunately, permissions are too broad. On first use, "Allow access to manage all files" I'd only like to allow access to the vault directory, that I specify. I'd love to try this app out one day!
