Comments on Obsidian for Android

★★★★☆ Shrike · Sep 26, 2026

Everyone raves about the graph view, but Obsidian’s real superpower is its local-first, plain-text Markdown architecture. Zero vendor lock-in means your knowledge base is completely future-proof. The bidirectional linking is buttery smooth. Pro-tip: don’t bloat it with community plugins on day one. Start clean, master core linking, and maybe set up a Git repo for free headless syncing. Hands down the ultimate PKM tool.

★★★★★ Jacob Baise · Aug 28, 2026

When long tapping a folder and clicking add new note, it deletes all the files in it and makes a new note. That's a pretty bad and overlooked bug isn't it??? Edit: seems to be fixed

★★★★☆ Justus · Aug 23, 2026

New ui update 11/10 only thing missing is a proper export suite, so I can share notes with others. For example when I note down some recipes I want to export an entire folder with working links. Normal export is available on desktop but not on mobile edit: also, please integrate with predictive back gesture that would make it a lot better

The best note-taking app on earth 🌎 thank you obsidian

★☆☆☆☆ TChalla A · Sep 27, 2026

For quick on the go edit and capture have to use Vettel Notes+ other apps. Can't easily open a local markdown file in Obsidian. Phablet era and devs removed multi panes. Great in desktop. Mobile look elsewhere.

★☆☆☆☆ Matt Brasier · Aug 30, 2026

Poor replacement for onenote. You have to pay up front for a year with no trial. Then when you do that it still has no ability to send emails to it like onenote has. The interface is ugly, and it struggles to keep the structure of imported onenote notes. I used it for about 3 hours then requested a refund. However, the refund process fails.

★☆☆☆☆ Megan (Terion) · Aug 21, 2026

The new position for the vault switcher and buttons has entirely thrown me off as I use this to write story notes. So I am usually never using the app one-handed and have used it enough that it is throwing off my flow when I want to switch to another file. Now instead of opening the sidebar and swapping to what I want, half the time I am hitting the wrong thing now because of muscle memory. EDIT: The Interface answer doesn't help me, as that doesn't move the switcher.

★★☆☆☆ Nikhil Polekar · Sep 22, 2026

It's only good for reading and maintaining markdown files. Cannot copy large text come what may. Doesn't scroll down when selecting. Even if you do a scroll-select-scroll, it gives up midway and shows two options: "Readable Line Length" & "Inline Title". No idea what it means, not sure why it doesn't let me just copy the text.

★★☆☆☆ Wasif Ahsan · Sep 23, 2026

Made for PC. Not for phones. Jumps too much when pressing Checkboxes. Jumps to cursor. It shouldn't jump there. It has to stay where the screen is looking at. Edit: Thanks for reply. It happens when in Reading mode, you press the Checkbox, and it goes to editing mode and jumps back to the cursor.
