The NS app is the official planning application for the Dutch Railways.
The app has the following features:
- Realtime journey planner - Timetable of departing trains per station - Summary of Planned work and disruptions - Station specific information regarding facilities and shops - Notifications regarding delays of a saved trip
Permissions: - We use your location to show nearby train stations - We use permissions for "Photo's/media/files" to save temporary files for Google Maps. This allows maps shown in the app to be faster. The app doesn't use or have access to your pictures or other media.

Active OV-bike rental counter keeps running in notification and the bottom of the app screen for many days (and counting) after the rental has been stopped. Other than that a fine app.

App works fine, but it's kinda weird that I have entered my details about my discount card, and that the discount never gets shown automatically in the journey price, you always have to click a second link to get anything other than the full price. Can we get the discount calculated into the journey price, in accordance with the time slot of je journey?

Horrible monopoly style company, forces the use of their app through obscurity and inconvenience if you don't. Having to physically print train tickets while it's just an QR Code if you don't have the app. Even tho you get an email with that qr code you still have to either print it put or use their app. it's cheaper to go to Berlin or Paris then it is to go to my grandparents in the same country...and they dare call it public transport.

The travel planner doesn't work very well. When I search for a route with a set arrival time, the order of routes is still set to departure time, and selecting bike for departure or arrival does not do anything unless you click earlier travel advices, then it shows the same advices but with a bike instead of walking.

The customer support agent Samira was rude and seemed to not know how to communicate with people. I bought a ticket via NS website and wanted to use the QR code for the travel. However, the station gate charged my card instead of reading QR, as I had an NFC on (who doesn't). I realized it only a few days later when I looked through my card statement. Passing gate with QR you should turn screen down, so obviously I haven't noticed that at that moment the charge was taken from card. I'm frustrated
